Because who doesn’t love home made pizza. Best thing ever is you can freeze this recipe for those rainy days.
2 tsp dry yeast or 7g (1 sachet)
1 tsp sugar
2 ½ cups or 375gm plain flour
1 cup or 250ml warm water
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
Lightly mix yeast, sugar, salt and warm water in a small bowl. Cover and stand in a warm place for 20mins or until mix is frothy.
Mix flour and oil in a large bowl. Stir in your yeast mixture and mix to a soft dough. Knead dough on a floured surface about 5mins or until smooth and elastic. Place dough in a large lightly oiled bowl, cover an stand in a warm place about 1Hr or until dough doubles in size.
Why you wait for your dough. Preheat oven 180 – 200C and line trays with baking paper.
Turn dough onto a floured surface, Knead until smooth and divide dough in half. Using a rolling pin, flatten dough and roll each half out to 30 – 32cm rounds.
Optional: sprinkle some polenta on oven trays for a traditional base. Toppings use 3-4 tbsp of Darlington farms signature Hot sauce for your base sauce and Top your pizza with your favourite toppings and bake in the oven for 15-20min at 180-200c until lightly golden brown and crispy.
